LIP BLUSHING
A permanent makeup treatment providing a flush of colour as well as defining the contours of the lip.
The lips, being a sensual feature, can significantly enhance one's appearance and boost confidence with the addition of subtle layers of colour. They play a crucial role in maintaining a youthful and healthy look, even without daily makeup application. However, over time, lips may lose volume, definition, and natural colour, causing the borders of the smile to fade. Through the application of permanent makeup, we can rejuvenate your lips, restoring your youthful allure by enhancing colour definition.

INFORMATIOn
-
Lip blush is a cosmetic tattoo procedure to enhance lip colour and shape. It involves outlining and depositing pigment with a needle into the lips to create a natural-looking tint. The process includes consultation, colour selection, pigmentation, and aftercare.

About a week before your appointment, it's best to skip any aspirin, ibuprofen, and supplements like fish oil and Vitamin E. We want to minimize any unnecessary bleeding, so keeping these out of your system will keep things safe.
Water should be your best friend leading up to your appointment. Staying well-hydrated really helps your skin heal better and keeps those lips looking lush.
Now, about alcohol and caffeine—try to avoid these 24 to 48 hours before your session. They can make you more sensitive and more prone to bleeding, so it’s best to steer clear just to be safe.
And here's a heads-up on other lip treatments: please avoid getting lip injections or fillers for at least three weeks before your appointment. Also, keep away from laser and peel treatments around your lips for two weeks.
A few days before your session, give your lips a little TLC with a gentle lip scrub and some nourishing balm. This will make your lips the perfect canvas for beautiful color. We can't tattoo if you have chapped lips, so this step is crucial.
One week out from your appointment, try to avoid any irritation around your lips by skipping any waxing or undergoing electrolysis.
If you're prone to cold sores, it’s a good idea to talk to your doctor about starting antiviral medication a few days before your appointment to keep cold sores at bay.

We’ll provide you with complete aftercare instructions—both a printed copy and a verbal explanation—once your treatment is finished. Here’s a quick preview of what to expect in the days following your tattoo- Initially, your lips will appear more intense in colour and may be somewhat swollen for a few days; this is completely normal! Within about 5 days, any flaky patches should fall away, and the true colour you chose will start to develop fully over the following 6 weeks.
The initial intensity of the colour depends on the pigment we select. If we choose a natural nude shade, your lips will look more intense but won't turn bright red.

Yes, touch-ups are typically needed for lip blushing.
Initial touchup at 6-12 weeks.
Annual touchup every 18-24 months, depending on the specific technique used. Regular touch-ups help maintain the intensity and clarity of the colour as the pigmentation fades over time due to natural skin regeneration.

Here’s a quick day-by-day guide on what to expect as your lips heal:
Day 1: Freshly Done
Right after the procedure, expect your lips to be a bit swollen and the colour to look very vibrant. They might feel tender and tight—this is all normal.
Day 2: Still Swollen
You might see a bit more swelling and some weeping. Keep them clean and apply the aftercare balm to keep them moist.
Day 3: Healing Begins
The swelling should start to go down. Your lips could begin feeling dry and tight. Moisturizing is key, so keep applying that balm.
Day 4 to 6: Flaking Phase
During these days, you’ll likely notice some scabbing and flaking. It’s important not to pick at them. Let the scabs fall off naturally to avoid losing colour or causing scars.
Day 7: Clearing Up
Most of the scabbing should be clearing up by now. Your lips might look lighter than expected, but don’t worry, the colour is just settling.
Day 8 to 14: Colour Settles
This is when the true colour starts to show more clearly. Your lips might still feel dry, so continue using your lip balm.
Day 15 and Beyond: Nearly There
Your lips should be mostly healed. The colour will have settled to its final shade.

FAQs
-
Lip blushing can involve some discomfort, as it is a type of cosmetic tattooing where pigment is implanted into your lips using fine needles. However, the level of pain experienced can vary depending on your pain threshold. We apply a topical anesthetic to the lips before starting the procedure to minimize discomfort. The sensation is often described as a slight buzzing or vibrating feeling.
-
Yes, it's essential to allow a four-week interval between receiving lip injections and undergoing lip blush to ensure proper healing. If there is any migration of the filler, it's advisable to have the filler dissolved before proceeding with permanent makeup.
Lip blush can subtly adjust the borders of your lips to enhance symmetry, but it should not extend beyond the vermilion border or onto the surrounding skin tissue. Working outside these boundaries can lead to issues once the pigment begins to fade.
-
The duration of your lip treatment depends on the size of your lips and the chosen style. Initial treatments typically last between 2 .5 to 3 hours from start to finish. Follow-up sessions and touch-ups generally require less time.

Bring your favorite daily lipstick to your appointment! It's helpful for me to see the color you're accustomed to wearing. I'll evaluate this shade against your skin and determine if it complements your complexion and works well with your lip tissue.
While many factors influence the final outcome of a lip tattoo, we cannot guarantee an exact match to your lipstick. However, we strive to achieve a close resemblance, ensuring the tattooed colour is within the same colour family.
